HULL PAINTING (l!3) A. All bare and rusty areas of the entire exterior shell surface from keel to rail to be thoroughly sand-swept. Oil and grease to be removed using approved solvent, then washect down with fresh water under pressure., and Humble paints applied as specified.
B. Keel to Light Load Line., Rudder and Stern Frame
Apply two (2) coats of modified epoxy primer
to all bare
areas. Then apply one (l) full coat of modified #587 and one
(l) full coat of modified epoxy #591. (This does not include
7300 sq. ft. of sandblasted surface covered in separate item).
C. Light to Deep Load Line All bare spots to be touched up with two (2) coats of modified epoxy #566, Then apply one (l) full coat of modified #567 and one (l) full coat of modified epoxy #591.
D. Doep Load Line to Rail (topsides) Touch up~a.ll bare spots with two (2) coats of modified epoxy #566. Then apply one (l) full coat of modified epoxy #567 and one (l) full coat of modified epoxy #597.
E. Miscellaneous Repaint vessel's name, hailing port, plimsol marks and draft: marks.
F. General - Paint will be supplied by Owners. Paint may be
sprayed on. Drying time allowed between each coat of primer or
paint to bo In full accordance with Manufacturer's recommenda
tions , All surfaces to be inspected and approved by Owner's
Representative before applying priming coa tand before apply
ing each additional coat. No painting to be done except during
clear and dry weather.

b. Take delivery of Owner furnished repaired 750 KW generator and 7.5 KW exciter, install on vessel, connect up coupling in correct alignment, connect up leads, and replace all removals in good order. Test and prove generator in good working order.
98. MAIN 0IR0UBAT0R PUMP MOTOR -GE,HP-200 - (303) Disconnect and remove to shop the main circulator pump motor. Thoroughly clean rotor and stator windings with approved solvent. Bake until satisfactory megger readings are obtained, apply one (l) coat of approved insulation varnish. Renew stator shaft (furnished by Owners), install coupling,(remove from broken shaft). Reassemble, renew ball bearings (bearings to be packed with approved grease). Reinstall and connect up motor in true alignment and prove in good operating condition.

Open up main circulating pump for examination. If necessary
install spare Impeller assembly. Prove grease connections

750 KW STARBOARD GENERATOR TURBINE AND GEARS
INSURANCE CLAIM NO,
A. Take delivery of Owner furnished turbine and gears and
send to shop.
Disconnect and remove to shop bottom and top turbine casing
of starboard generator turbine.
Rebuild ship's turbine using parts from Owners furnished
turbine under supervision of DeLaval Service Engineer.
Reinstall and realign.
Open reduction' gear casings for examination, check and record all clearances. Renew worn bearings and adjust to proper clear\ ances. Open up lube oil pump, check all parts for wear and defects. Renew defective parts, examine all orifice plates in lube oil system.for wear. Open for examination nozzle strainer for gears, clean, renew gaskets and replace in good order. Renew all enlarged orifice plates, also overhaul and adjust all relief'valves. Open up governor and control, check relays, valves, etd. for wear and renew defective parts. Upon comple tion of work close up all in good order. Clean oil sumps on completion of work and close immedia tely after being inspect ed by Owner's Representative, (Parts and bearings furnished by Owners). Furnish five (5) typewritten copies of all readings before and after adjustments are made, to Owner's Rep.
Disconnect, clean and connect all oil piping* Thoroughly clean, test, and prove lube oil coolers tight, renew- zinc plates. Upon completion of work, close up all in good order. Test and - adjust overspeed trip and prove turbines, gears and generator in goodqperating condition under load.
B. Generator Turbine Atmospheric Relief Valve -Size 8". Remove to shop atmospheric relief valve, open up, repair fracture in valve body at flange, hydrostatic test, prove tight, machine, seat and disc, grind in, renew worn or defective parts, re assemble, renew bonnet gasket, defective bolts and nuts, test to required; pressure, prove tight, and in good working condi tion. Return and install on generator turbine, renewing flange

Open governor control valves of #1, #2 and #4 cargo pump turbines for examination, renew worn and damaged parts, test main valve seat for tightness, renew if found leaking, examine air operated valve and speed changer. Check all parts for wear and defects, renew defective parts. Reassemble, renew gaskets, defective cap bolts, studs and nuts. Test and adjust overspeed trip, low pressure trip, prove in good operating condition. Renew or replace disturbed insulation as original. Parts furnished by vessel. Work to be under supervision of G. E. Service Engineer.

DECK SANDBLASTING AND COATING (CORROSION PROJECT) Shipyard is to supply all equipment, labor, power, materials (not including paint), lighting, etc., required to carry out this item. Suitable covers over all cowl and vent openings will be required to prevent sand and dust from filtering into any; machinery space. Doors and skylights to be taped shut where possible. Emergency generator room and engine room to be vacuumed upon completion if dust accumulation in these spaces is excessive. Sand biast to white metal approximately ten thousand five hundred (10,500) square feet of deck surfaces as follows:
Boat deck aft; boat deckhouse top; Fidley deck, including top of galley; deck locker; battery locker; emergency diesel generator room; fan rooms, including approximately three inches of coaming and deckhouse in way of sandblasted decks.
Blasting to be scheduled in such a manner that surfaces will be reasonably bright at the time of coating application.
Spray apply two (2) coats of Humble Epoxy-Mastic 9664 Red.
Minimum dry film thickness per coat - five mils - drying time between coats - twenty-four hours.
NOTE: The drying time indicated above for the body and.finish coa ts of the coating system are the so-called "normal1' dry ing periods required for the coating materials to be applied. The"normal" drying times are offered for guidance only.
For any particular coating application, the prevailing atmos pheric conditions may shorten or extend the required drying time beyond the "normal" period. Accordingly, the decision as to when each particular coating is ready for overcoating, etc., will be made by the Owner's Representative or appointed inspector.

Remove defective rubber coating from valve, sandblast (NOTE; protect gate seats while blasting), and apply two (2) coats of Poxitar to areas. Allow overnight drying before applying 2nd coat. Remove to.shop #2 and #3 feed pump turbine rotors. Check bearing journals for true and round. Polish shafts in way of carbon packing. Balance rotors3 free up couplings and return to vessel.

ANODE SHIELDS (.103) Sandblast white spots of six (6) capastic anode shields and white spots of two (2) rubber anodes shields as directed and recoat bare spots with Capastic as directed. Capastic furnished by Owners.
Apply Capastic to a 12' dia, shield for the four forward anodes. The dia. of shields now 10*. Sandblasting of area covered In item 60. Renew missing sections of guard for forward port anode, will require 1 section 6 ft, long shaped, one 4 ft. section, one l1 section, welded, size 2^" dia. steel rod.
Renew missing section of guard for forward starboard anode, requires one (l) 4 ft. section of 2" dia. steel rod, vee out and reweld two (2) fractures.

tight. Replace disturbed insulation as original. Size 20" dia.

a. Renew valve disc guide for high sucticn sanitary pump sea
valve, approx, size 1/2" x 3^" long.
b. Renew bolts and nuts in sea chest flange of auxiliary cir
culating pump suction valve, approx. 12 bolts, size l"
dia. x 3-|" long.

c. Disconnect and remove starboard 16" angle cargo pump sea
suction valve to shop. Thoroughly clean eroded areas in
body of valve and in way of seat and build up by welding,
machine and renew seat if necessary, replace seat. Sand
blast entire interior of valve and : apply two (2) coats
of Poxitar to valve body. Grind in seat and disc, grind in,
close up, test and prove tight. Replace, renew bonnet,
flange gaskets, repack valve stem, bolts and nuts.
d. Chip, wire brush, clean pitted area of port cargo pump
sea valve, size l6", approx, size of pitted area 6" x 4".
Fill with Devcon Steel Putty._
e. Free up valve stems of four (4) steam out valves to sea
chests, renew eight (8) 3/8" x 2" steel packing gland
studs.

Open in place* disconnect and remove to shop the following cargo tank valves* open* machine seats and discs* grind in* renew bonnet gaskets* repack valve stems* test to 125 lbs. pressure* prove tight. Replace* renew gaskets* bolts and nuts* replace connecting rods in good order:. #1 center - one (l) 12" angle valve #2 center - one (l) 12" angle valve (renew disc nut) Repack 8" stripper suction valve. #3 center ~ 8" stripper globe valve #6 port - 12" angle valve (cargo system) #8 port - 8" stripper valve #10 port - 12" angle valve Renew one (l) 12" flange gasket Tighten all cargo tank valve packing glands. Prove valve gaskets tight.
