Ethanolamines/Glycol Ethers Tier 3 Procedure Section No.: 5011 Issue No.: 1.1 Original Date: 06-09-94 Author: Revision Date: 12-29-95 Title: E-130/140 Reboiler Flush References: Glossary Of Equipment Identification 5011 E-130/140 Reboiler Flush 1.0 Objective: 1.1 To outline safe and efficient guidelines for the completion of this job. 2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of the shift supervisor and the area engineer to Assure the safe completion of this task. 3.0 Safety Notations: 3.1 Monogoggles are required for the flushing portion of this procedure or anytime You are exposed to the product/condensate flush stream. 4.0 Procedure: 4.1 Make sure all product is blown out of the coilumns and exchangers. 4.2 Block in e-130 and e-140 from the columns according to the red tag master. 4.3 Pressure the columns up to the n2 header pressure, and varify that no n2 leaks By the block valves. If n2 leaks by, doulble block the exchangers using the Recirculation throttle valve and pump suctions. 4.4 Put condensate on the bleed below the exchanger and open a bleed on the Exchanger outlet to drain the condensate to the trench through a flex hose. 4.5 Flush the reboiler for 30 minutes with hot condensate. 4.6 Open the low point bleeds and allow n2 to blow from the column through the Recirculation throttle valve and and exchanger and out the low point bleeds. Then close the recirculation valve and blow n2 through the pumps and out the Bleeds until no water is present. 4.7 Disconnect hoses and prepare column for startup.
