The other three employees are being studied because of some suspi cious factors in their histories or examinations. is a 36 year old, white female who complained of consti pation, abdominal discomfort, weakness, malaise and headaches when seen in December 1942. She showed pallor at this time and her blood pressure was llp/70, pulse 84. .Laboratory examination showed: R.B.C. 3,700,000 Hemoglobin 75/ Stippling 85/50 F - Urine Alb., Negative In March, 1943, she complained of nausea in addition. Laboratory work was approximately the same except that there were only 46 stippled cells per 50 fields. In April 1943, weakness and malaise were the outstanding'complaints. The abdominal symptoms had receded. She offered the information that she had a sweetish taste in her mouth. She had no complaints until March, 1943. Her hemoglobin had been 91% and 9T%z on two previous examinations and was 76% in December 1942. In March 1943, she complained of abdomi nal pain and constipation. Examination on April 1st revealed pallor, colicy abdominal pain, weakness and malaise, and dizziness. Her blood pressure was 118/80, pulse 72. She complained of a sweetish taste in her mouth and had very slight darkening of her gums which showed advanced pyorrhea. She now notes low back pain and bone pain in addition to the above symptoms and her fatigue is greater. Her laboratory examination revealedt R.E.C. 4,220,000 Hemoglobin 9Z% Stippling 13.5/50 F Urine Alb. Negative ___________(is a 27 year old, white, female with no difficulties up to February 1^43. Her hemoglobin had been 80% In February of this year, about the time of her transfer to the suspected department, she complained of nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, weak ness and malaise. When examined in April 1943, she complained of some nausea, sweetish taste in her mouth-- she now complains of weakness and fatigue. Her laboratory examination revealed: R.E.C. 4,160,000 Hemoglobin .
