MIAMI F LO RIDA March 10, 1840 Mr. J. A. Costello, Dear Joe: This past week I secured the additional information that Dr.. Kehoe desired regarding the Orange State Oil Company's tank cleanings in Dec ember, \h ich you no doubt will want to pass on to him. Tank #201 in Tampa which had been used for spiting was cleaned dur_ng the period <f December 6tb to December* 12th 1938. Mr. E. F. Glover was in charge of this d. eanine, and the following men entered the tank: of the time wh i:re this cleaning job was being done only as a protection against, gas fumes. Previous to the cleaning this tank was steemed for several days and the war.Is were kept wet during the satire period of cleaning. This tank is equipped with a floating type roof, and sisse the roof was only three orfour feet above the bottom it was very difficult to dean, and Mr. Glover saw no reason for burdening his men with gas masks as long as no gas hazard existed. Nose of the above men were rubber gloves and I was advised that only Hubbard wore rubber boots. Both Mr. H. NV Glover, Construction Engineer* and Ik*. E. F. Glover, Construction Foreman were out of Miami this week, but Mr. R. W. Van Brant, Secretary for Orange State instructed them ts be here Saturday morning for a conference with me, at which time the above information was secured. 00211 2 ]S[ 2449 MIAMI FLORIDA lie*.
