f c safety information as to its use?
ANSWER: Kaiser Cement s Gypsum objects to this inter rogatory as irrelevant, because Kaiser Cement a Gypsum has never manufactured asbestos and has never sold its products to the U.S. Naval Shipyards. However, in an effort to avoid disputes, Kaiser Cement s Gypsum answers as follows. Kaiser Cement s Gypsum did not supply any special warnings or precautionary in formation prior to 1966 relating to the small amounts of asbestos in joint compounds, texture paints, and fire-rated mineral fiber boards. Prior to 1966, Kaiser Cement s Gypsum provided normal \ instructions for using its products. These instructions included standard precautions to be observed in using Portland cement.
2 2 . Did you ever supply any warnings or precautionary information to any consumer or purchaser of products you manu factured or sold, either verbally or in written form after 1966, as to health hazards involved with the use of such products or |safetY information as to its use?
ANSWER: Kaiser Cement s Gypsum did place the warning notice, attached to the answer to Interrogatory No. 20, on pack ages of joint compounds, texture paints and plastic cements con taining small amounts of asbestos, starting in 1972. This warning notice was used until asbestos was discontinued in.these products by 1976.
23. If your answers to Interrogatory No. 21 or No. 22 is affirmative, please provide a copy of such warnings or precau tionary information, dates such information was provided and names r persons to whom such inforamtion was provided.
