Dear Dr. Bridge: Thank you very much indeed for your letter of October 8 calling my attention to an article in the New York State Industrial Hygiene Bulletin. You are quite right in assuming that both experimentation and experience have shown that the absorption of lead from petrol containing the commer cial quantities of tetraethyl lead, is negligible. I have published experimental evidence on the subject, and I am now preparing a report of an investigation completed months ago, showing the status of this prob lem in practical experience. I believe the evidence contained therein is quit conclusive, and I believe it practically ends the discussion over this subject. I have not had the pleasure of being in England for some time. I have been very busy, and there.has been no occasion making it necessary for me to be abroad. However, I hope in the near future, perhaps next summer, to spend some months abroad, and I shall certainly look forward to seeing you at that time if the trip pans out. With kindest regards.
