I have arranged to have
Darryl Nirenberg with whom you have met attend, and Colin
Hayes (former Senate Emery staff director), along with
Michael Speerschneider from AWEA. Two wind energy
company representatives yet to be identified may attend as
well.
For your planning, they would like to discuss the following: 1. Permitting for wind energy projects under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act 2. Delivery and consideration of the Great Plains Habitat Conservation Plan
As I mentioned, they are really interested in conveying their position. Darryl and Colin are solid individuals and will help to steer the discussion for these folks. They will be looking for next steps and in my opinion, they need a broader coalition. Any advice you can provide would be great. Last, AWEA's Term Sheet and a Sample General Permit program (for eagles) is attached.
Thanks again, Allison
