I enjoyed seeing you at Asilomar and in Munich. I have a question for you regarding the occupational exposure limit for benzene in China. I recall that at the Shanghai Health Study meeting in 2003, Dr. Liang reported that the OEL for benzene had been reduced to 2 ppm in China. Recently in Shell, our industrial hygienist asked our HSE Advisor in China for the current benzene OE L. Our advisor sent a table, attached below, which shows that the OE L is 6 ppm TWA. Would you please confirm which is the correct value? If 2 ppm been adopted, perhaps it has not been incorporated into the official table. I appreciate your help with this question.
