The inspectors were not able to make contact with a representative of the facility. EPA Region 6 inspector Collin Martin and LDEQ inspector Eura Dehart returned to at 1:02 P.M. on 10/19/2017. We met with at the Opening Conference. I presented my credentials to and informed him that this was an EPA inspection to determine facility compliance with the Clean Water Act. The scope of the inspection is a Compliance Evaluation Inspection. FACILITY DESCRIPTION is an unpermitted facility that has approximately 138 cattle. At the time of the inspection, according to , the facility was milking 48 cows. In addition to the milking cows, notified us that there were approximately 70 head of dry cows on site, 10 calves, and ten heifers. The cows are milked twice per day and between sessions kept in pasture. Section II - OBSERVATIONS Coordination with NRCS: informed us that he has had no coordination with NRCS. Retention Control Structure (RCS): We observed the RCS to be in good condition and free from any evidence of discharge. Land Application Areas: At the time of the inspection, informed us that he had approximately 111 acres to which he could apply wastewater liquids and solids. Dewatering Equipment: At the time of the inspection, had a functioning electric pump capable of dewatering the RCS. informed us that he pumps out the RCS about once every six weeks or as needed. Mortality Management Area: informed us that he typically buries his mortalities in a back corner of his pasture.
