The incident described resulted from a leak of 1248 Kanechlor, produced by Kanegafuchi, into rice oil. The Kanechlor was the heat source for the food product. Additional information is available for MMK through Mr. Danna. Users of Therminol in food processing plants should be aware of the potential hazard. Their quality control should be geared to detect such an occurrence. The current label has no warning on the results of ingestion. It is inferred, but not spelled out/ CAUTION: Contains chlorinated hydrocarbons. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors or mists. Avoid contact with eye or prolonged contact with skin. If skin contact occurs removing by washing with soap and water. Following eye contact flush with water.
