Burkett Review of Project Progress 1. Schedules and Control a. Area I - Tank Farm 1) All equipment is on order and all drawings have been issued to the field. b. Area II - Manufacturing Area 1) Major item not on order is the therminol pump Mr. Herman will follow. 2) Piping takeoff should be expedited. All valves and special fittings and large diameter carbon steel piping materials are on order. Alloy pipe will be placed on order the week of April 15. Mr. Herman will follow. 3) Electrical materials - none on order. Mr. Drane will follow. 4) Instrument panel - will be ordered next week. c. Problem Areas 1) . It has been taking 4-5 weeks to get approval drawings back to expediting. So far, this has not affected equipment deliveries. 2) Approval drawings for heat exchangers were received on March 28 - will be returned week of April 15. Mr. Steketee requested that each engineer record on the 30% estimate work sheet items to be purchased in CED after April 19. Prior to April 22 he requests an estimate of engineering time required to finish the job. 2. Drafting Drawing status as reported by Mr. Jackson as of 4/8/68. Relocation drawings will be issued to the field by 4/16/68. Mr. Hermsin will follow. 3. AC&M Design a. Status of Utility Design 1) Therminol pump purchase is being expedited. 2) Engineering flow diagrams for steam and water are in the process of being distributed. Air system diagram is not complete. 3) A drawing will be issued to show extensions to the office heating system. b. Status of Mechanical Design Most of the effort is now taken up in ordering piping materials and getting approval drawings corrected and returned. 4. El&tJ Design a. Status of Instrument Design 1) Need about 10 man days to complete requisitions for instrument purchases. Assistance is needed if we are to keep pace with the schedule. Starting April 15 Mr. Corley will have an instrument engi neer full time to assist him. 0129722 TOWOLDMONOQ45142 3 April 15, 1968 2) Drafting is not proceeding as fast as expected. 3) Therminol control package will be issued for bid the week of April 22. 4) Analyzer package will be issued for bid in May. In the meantime, we will purchase the critical items required within the next two weeks. b. Status of Electrical Design 1) Tank farm purchases are complete. 2) Drawing issuance date will be met. 3) Purchasing for the manufacturing area is 50% com plete. Cable trays will be ordered by May 6. Pushbutton stations, lighting fixtures and multi colored cable will be ordered at a later date. c. Problem Area 1) Need additional help in instrument drafting Mr. Drane will follow. 2) 30% reestimate requires about 2-3 days of engi neering time - Mr. Drane suggests that Mr. Stekette work closely with the engineers to reduce this time. 5. PD&PM Design a. Status of Process Design 1) Mr. Ray has completed a sketch locating the 4th absorber. Mr. Yates has given this to Mr. Herman who will follow, 6. Other Business Mr. Kuhn of Organic Division requests that we activate Item 401, the biphenyl storage tank, as quickly as possi ble for operating reasons. Completion of work as shown on P-111, less steam, water and air will enable us to start using this tank. Temporary steam and air lines will have to be provided and the tank must be insulated before we can transfer into the tank. Mr. Burchfield will follow this to see what timing might be expected.
