2017 RFS Waiver Info
Bill,
Secretary Perdue received the response below from Administrator Pruitt yesterday morning, pledging to provide the information requested. And then I called and left a VM message for you last night. What's the story on the slow-walk in providing the information that I requested from you a week ago?
Thanks and best regards,
Steve

Sonny,
Thank you for your note. I want to be as responsive and helpful to this as I can, so in the interest of time, I've asked my team to reach out to yours and provide the information that they can. They can also be available if you'd like to speak to them directly on this.
I hope this helps.
Scott

Scott,
A quick follow-up from our meeting yesterday. I understood you to say in our meeting with the President that all small refinery hardship waivers you have issued have been for the 2016 compliance year, even though some may have been issued in 2017 or just recently, and that EPA hasn't issued any waivers for the 2017 compliance year. It may be as simple as conflating

years, but it is our understanding that waivers for the 2017 compliance year indeed have been issued by EPA. My Deputy, Steve Censky, spoke last evening with Bill Wehrum, and again asked for waiver info for the 2017 compliance year. Bill was going to check with you about providing this info, but this note is to specifically ask you to provide the following information on waivers for the 2017 compliance year:
a) the number of waivers that have been granted to date; b) the total gallons represented by such waivers; c) the number of waiver requests still pending before the EPA; and d) the gallons represented by such waivers.
I would very much appreciate this info as soon as possible. If you would direct Bill to provide, I would be grateful. This email address would be fine. I believe it has a direct bearing on what we are trying to resolve.
Thanks,
Sonny
