I would be very happy to have someone who you would identify from Jeffs office. Alison, what is the best number to reach you at and time to call tomorrow so we can discuss? Thank you all in advance. We've discussed this request internally and the thought is that it would likely be most helpful to your audience if we have someone provide a more "nuts and bolts" type technical presentation. Alison Pierce, cc'd above is the best point of contact and she can work with our OPPT Office Director, Jeff Morris, to help identify the right person from Jeffs team. The hope is that this will work best for your audience, as we do want to keep them engaged and working along with us as we implement the new legislation. Please let me know if you have any questions. Piease accept my sincerest apologizes for the lateness of this response. Basically, we have two environmental sessions planned for Thursday morning, January 27th, from 8:00 am - 10:00 am, and the second one from 10:15 am - 12:15 pm. Specifically, you are being asked to present during the second session from 1.0:15 - 10-:45 am. We alternate presenters starting with a government person, then someone from the automotive industry. So far, we have Toyota confirmed to speak immediately after your presentation. The second session is entitled: Implementation of LCSA To meet the needs of the 21st Century a bipartisan Congress passed the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (LCSA) in 2016 to update the regulation of chemicals, modernizing the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). This session will reveal the recently finalized framework for implementing this new chemical legislation. This session will also cover interpretations of new chemicals that affect the automotive industry. Our thoughts would be if you could dedicate your time to discuss some of the timely ERA framework in implementing the new LSCA chemical regulations; such as prioritization, and/or risk evaluation, which could include interpretations of new chemicals (e.g., Section 5), etc. We are trying to find another ERA individual to discuss the "inventory reset" where the deadline is in eariy February 2018. So, there will he a total of four individuals separately presenting within each 30 minute time periods. After many years in planning these sessions, we find it helpful if each presenter tries to prepare about 15-20 slides and speaks for about 22-25 minutes. Then, we have a short Q&A of about 5-8 minutes which allows the audience time to ask questions, and start a quick dialogue. Based upon your presentation, we would ask you to draft 1-3 Q&As that: you would like us (Amandine & myself) to ask you after your presentation to 'break the ice' and get the audience engaged. We have been very successful over the last 25+ years on other environmental topics for this joint government-industry meetings, and look forward to hearing back from you. Please let us know if you are interested, and/or if we can answer any additional questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Once you can confirm, then we will send you a formal invitation with all the specifics; e.g., day, time, etc. and we would need the title of your presentation. But, if you would like to discuss further, please let me know, and we can have a quick call if you would like. We look forward to hearing hack from you. Best regards, Dan Selke Sierra Club v. Each year SAE organizes this conference in conjunction with the Washington Auto Show to bring together though leaders from both government and industry to share ideas and collaborate on best practices. As an organizer on the panel for TSCA, I would personally like to extend you an invitation to speak on our panel on "Implementing new chemical regulations under LSCA." The event will take place on the morning of January 25, 2018 at the DC Convention Center. Last year, Mark Pollins, Director for Water Enforcement (OCE) spoke to the group and Emma Lavoie (NCEA) has also given presentations in the past. We are happy to provide a letter of explanation for the approvals process. Further, I would like to note that all SAE conference sessions are off the record to create an opportunity for industry and the government to really understand the impacts of regulations on both sides. Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA Tier 5 ED 002061 00040783-00003 The conference is free with your government ID and is here in Washington, DC. Additionally, SAE provides a free pass to the auto show if that is of interest to you. Please do not hesitate to reach out with further questions. I hope we can count on your presentation during this panel. Best, Amandine Muskus Manager, Environment & Energy Association of Global Automakers, Inc.
