Nason 4- Title ASSISTANCE TO AROCLOR OPERATING DEPARTMENTS Problem. To study the cauSQ 0f f iash p0ints in some lots of Aroclor 1254 at Anniston. Summary: The finding of flash points In two lots of Aroclor 1254 has made It necessary to look at the Anniston process for a new variable. All data during the past 20 years have indicated no flash points as deter mined by the ASTO1 Cleveland Open Cup Method. Flash point tests are being made on each lot of Aroclor 1254 at presen to obtain some history on these determinations. Details: Aroclor 1254, lot 105, had a flash point of j80F. and was found to be contaminated with biphenyl. Later, lot 104, was also shown to have a flash point of 440F. Neither lot had a fire point below its boiling temperature. In view of these new developments, flash points are being determined on each lot of Aroclor 1254.
