Executive Director Enclosures bjp/cn CAP CO JEN 0011134 SECTION 2.01 SECTION 2.02 SECTION 2.03 SECTION 2.05 AIA/NA BY LAWS EXCERPTS Any firm or corporation engaged in the manufacture, sale or use of products containing asbestos fiber, or in the mining, milling or sale of asbestos fiber in llorth America, is eligible for membership in the Association. Only one membership shall be granted to a parent corporation and affiliated or subsidiary companies in which the parent corporation owns or controls a majority of the voting stock. A member may qualify as a regular member or as an associate member as those terms are defined herein. A. firm or corporation eligible to qualify as a regular member must become a regular member. Any firm or corporation which meets the qualifications set forth in Section 2.01 and is involved in a primary asbestos industry -- those industries that either start the manufacturing process with raw asbestos fiber and modify the fiber to produce an intermediate product or a finished product or mine, mill or sell asbestos fiber -- is eligible to become a regular member. Any firm or corporation which meets the qualifications set forth in Section 2.01 and is involved in a secondary or consumer industry as defined herein is eligible for an associate membership: A) Secondary Industries -- those industries that continue the manufacturing process with an intermediate product (one in.which the fiber has previously been modified in a primary industry) and further processes, modifies or fabricates to produce either another inter mediate product or a finished productj B) Consumer Industries -- those industries that purchase a finished asbestos-containing product and apply, install, erect or consume the asbestos-con taining product without further physical modification of the product. Any firm or corporation eligible and qualified for either membership under Sections 2.01 and 2.02. or member ship under Sections 2.01 and 2.03 may become a regular or an associate member upon approval by the Board of Directors after submission or a written application for membershiv to include evidence of eligibility crld indicating willingness to abide by these By-Laws.
