Chastain while at the N. C. Sanitarium in Black Mountain, N. C. for a thorough examination requested by the State Board of Health, concerning asbestosis, Mr.. Chastain made the statement . that conditions in our plant were dus'tier now than they were a few years past.' . Mr. Gallagher, our Plant Manager, was concerned'about this statement but you confirmed my opinion, that this was a personal statement made by Mr. Chastain and was nothing unusual for a statement like this to be made during an examination, and that reports made by the State engineer of their tests and findings would be of more importance to us.
