The vinyl chloride personnel monitoring results for January are attached for your review.
Two of the eight jobs monitored exceeded the OSHA 1 ppm standard. The Hydrocarbon Quality Control Lab technician had an exposure of 3.6 ppm. This man made several trips to the vinyl chloride production area to run gas tests (explosive environment tests prior to allowing welding or burning); no respirator was used. The PVC polymerization operator had an exposure of 6.6 ppm. This man entered and cleaned three autoclaves while wearing a full face supplied air respirator.
