I do not believe that the details of the test are given in a sufficient maimer to udge if the method would be as adequate as a standard analysis of lead. However, the method does appear to be useful as a screening device to deter mine the presence of lead in paints as long as it is used for this purpose and if no interpretation as to actual percentage of lead content in the paint is made, then I do not see why it could not serve a useful purpose.
