BESTEX DESCRIPTION Bestwall has two types of materials designed for texturing gypsum wallboard. Bestex #1 is de signed for hand texture finishes of many variations over drywall construction. Bestex #2 is designed for application with spray equipment. It can be used with from 1-1/2 up to 13-1/2 pounds of perlite per 25 pound bag of Bestex to give a wide range of textured finishes. Both products produce hard surfaced, white decorative finishes that have excellent light reflective qualities. For best results, ceilings and walls should be primed before being textured. BW-63150 10M 3 63 SGP 0002627 1-DAY WALLBOARD JOINT COMPOUND DESCRIPTION Bestwall 1-Day Wallboard Joint Compound is a new product developed through Bestwall re search and field-tested through Bestwall Systems Engineers. It is designed for taping, conceal ing nail heads and corner bead in gypsum wallboai;d construction. This new compound makes possible the taping and finishing of all wallboard joints within a single day. It is used for all coats preceding the final coat. The compound, a "setting" material, is formulated to harden in 2Vi to 3 hours. When hardened, Bestwall 1-Day Wallboard Joint Com pound will not shrink. This solves a major prob lem of wallboard installation, by eliminating days of heating unfinished homes and buildings, time lost traveling to and from jobs, and long delays while waiting for conventional materials to dry and harden. And because there is no shrinkage, quantity of compound and number of coats applied may be reduced. PRODUCT USES For taping and all coats preceding the final coat in the finishing of joir*s, concealing of nailheads and corner bead in gypsum wallboard construction. It is well suited to high rise construction as well as to homes and other buildings. DATA Mixing: Mix 25 lbs. of Bestwall 1-Day Wallboard Joint Compound with 13 pints of water. Allow mix to soak 5 minutes. Re-mix, adding water if necessary to attain desired working consistency. Working life is ap proximately 2 hours. Application: Apply to joints, having a uniform thickness of material under the tapes. Apply first coat over tapes as ion as compound under tapes has hardened to a point where movement of the tapes will not occur. Fill corner bead. Treat nail heads at same time. Apply final tight coat with Bestwall Topping Compound, or other Bestwa.. finishing compounds as desired. When joint system textures are to be used as part of the decorating scheme, a vinyl primer sealer or equiva lent must be applied to the entire surface prior to texturing.
