Byron: Thanks very much for your note, ! think under the circumstances, as you describe them, it wouid be best that you not attend this meeting. We would very likeiy want to cover some upstream issues at a high level. We do hope very much that Ryan Jackson will be able to see Janet Weiss us on either April 25 or April 26.
Very best regards,
David

Hi Bob and David - I am recused from particular matters affecting the oil and gas exploration and production industry, but am not recused from other matters including ones that affect diverse industry sectors. Do you know if this meeting will focus on upstream issues? Thanks. - Byron

Dear Ryan:
Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA
Tier 2
ED 002061 00087904-00001
On April 25 and 26, Janet Weiss, the President and Chairman of BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc., will be in Washington for a series of meetings. We hope very much that we can find some time on your schedule for Janet to visit the Agency, introduce herself to you and discuss with a key regulator a few of the major issues facing BP's Alaska business today.
As you may know, BP has been exploring and developing Alaska's oil and gas resources for over half a century and continues to play an important role in driving economic growth and supporting local communities throughout the state. In fact, our work in Alaska supports over 16,000 jobs in the state.
BP helped build the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System in the mid-1970s. It has generated over 12 billion barrels of oil at the massive Prudhoe Bay oil field since it began drilling there in 1968. The Greater Prudhoe Bay area remains one of the largest oil fields in North America and produces about 55 percent of Alaska's oil and gas. BP also owns interests in seven other North Slope oil fields including the state's newest oil and gas field, Point Thompson.
Janet would be free to meet with you on Tuesday, April 25 between 10 am and 2 pm and on Wednesday, April 26 up until 3 pm. Please let me know whether any of these times might work. Should you need any additional information from us, kindly let us know.
Many thanks and best regards,
David
