Born Brecksville R&D Center, D/8506 10/1/82 SUBJECT: A One-time Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) Cross-Check Study The Corporate Environmental Laboratory, BFG Department 8506, requests your cooperation in conducting a VCM cross-check. The cross-check will entail the analyses of VCM samples. The VCM samples will already have been adsorbed on activated charcoal in the Flasher tubes. Each BFG plant in the cross-check study %~11 receive a total of ten (10) tubes. The first five Flasher tubes accompany this letter. The Plaquemine plant will also receive five SKC glass tubes con taining 1.0 gram of activated charcoal. The second set of five tubes is sched uled to arrive by October 31. Department 8506 has cleaned the first set of Flasher tubes by thermal flashing. The other set will contain the five tubes which your plant cleaned and supplied to us. Department 8506 will have loaded each of the ten tubes per plant with less than 10 micrograms of VCM. Department 8506 asks that you analyze each VCM sample by your usual proce dure. Report the measured weight of VCM from each separate tube to me. Also, return the five Deparment 8506 Flasher tubes to me after the analyses. Please state your GC calibration factor and the date of calibration in your report. Also, please report the date on which you received the samples and the date on which you analyzed them.
