In response to your telephone call of August 27 I have attaohed pertinent conversion information for Aroolor (Therminol FR) heat transfer systems.
Basloally, I would suggest you drain the Aroolor fluid from the heating system* place it into a suitable leak-free drum, and have it forwarded to our Sauget, Illinois plant for disposal by inoineratlon. Disposal and shipment of the drum can be ar ranged through Mr. Bill Maddox in MICC Customer Order Department at 694-3361. Mr. Maddox can give you the necessary instructions for shipping the container to the Sauget plant for disposal and will need an appropriate charge number to cover the inoineratlon fee.
The system should be thoroughly cleaned. I would suggest flush ing with a produot like Therminol 55 (include the flushings with the PCB fluid to be incinerated) followed by a thorough cleanout. Attaohed you will find suggestions toward ohemical cleanout of these systems which we have found to be satisfactory In removing traoes of accumulated dirt and debris from long term usage with Aroolor type fluid.
A suitable replacement for the Aroclor fluid now uBed in the system is Therminol 66. This produot has an upper use range of 650#F. The Therminol 66 is not fire resistant as is the Aroolor produot. Suitable precaution should be taken to proteot against fire risk.
Should you have any additional questions regarding this conver sion please feel free to contact me.
