mercury cell area job class designations
The following descriptions were used to designate job classes for personnel assigned to perform work in the Mercury Cell Area. Job classes, based on these definitions, were used in the Mercury Physical Examination and the Mercury in Urine Surveys completed in January 1972.
Job Class
Description
1 Supervision - Personnel associated with the operation and maintenance of the Mercury Cell Plant. Primary areas of exposure were con sidered to be offices, control room, lab and locker room. However, some duties do require working in the other areas of the plant.

OrFiCCr
Lead Operator - Normally performs duties in the Mercury Cell control room. Other duties do require work to be performed in the cell room and outside areas (minor).
3 Cell Operator - (Includes No. 2 Cell Auxiliary Operator) Primary area of exposure is the cell room with minor exposure in control room.
4 No. 1 Cell Auxiliary Operator - Performs approximately half of duties in cell room and the other half in outside areas.
5 Outside Operators - (Brine and Area Utility Operators) Basically performs duties in' out side areas with minor duties in control room and lab.
6 Cell Renewal - Performs maintenance type work on mercury cells within cell room with minor ducies in the cell repair shop.
7 Cell Builders - Performs maintenance type work on mercury cells in the ceil repair shop with minor duties In outside areas.
