EPA and State agenices have been notified that PCBs were found In tank residues at Newark. Three hot oil systems which contained PCBs in the early 70's are also the subject of EPA attention. New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will visit Newark on 7/22; EPA will be in on 7/27. 2. EPA Region VI contacted OKC regarding their request for information on vinyl chloride releases between 6/1/81 and 7/6/83. EPA says they want information on all releases, not just releases through relief valves. OKC's response is due August 4. Discussions are being held with Legal. 3. Representatives of the State of Louisiana visited LC VCM to review the VCM leak detection program. Louisiana does not think our program is adequate and wants a revised plan submitted. A meeting will be held 7/26 In Lake Charles with Legal to discuss strategy. 4. The first annual Material Safety Data Sheet mailing to customers has been completed. HSDSs will be sent to toll processers, terminals, and ware houses next week. *1olex Raffinate has been distributed for review.
