I t was s ta te d th a t because of th e a d d it io n o f asbestos as a ta rg e t fo r e n v iro n m e n ta lis ts , and the fa c t th a t s ta te and fe d e ra l re g u la tio n s are being proposed fo r a s b e s to s c o n tr o l, th a t i t was in th e b e st in t e r e s t fo r the v a riour asbestos users to be c u r r e n t on proposed re g u la tio n s . F u r t h e r , t h is committee w ith in the F ric tio n M a te r ia ls Standards In s t it u te , In c ., could present the brake lin in g (and clutch fa c in g ) m an ufacturers' view s to both the Asbestos Inform ation A sso c ia tio n of North America and to the v a rio u s re g u la to ry agencies. Another o b je c tiv e of th is Com m ittee w ould be to keep the members o f the In s t it u t e informed as to th e status o f r e g u la t io n s co ncerning asbestos both in - p la n t and in the general en viro n m en t, and to a d v is e on the methods o f measuring these asbestos c o n c e n tra tio n s in the environment. , ASBESTOS INFORMATION ASSOCIATION.
