Let me know what date and time you would prefer and I will send a Teams invite to everyone. We have indeed spoken to Daiken separately now so that is fine. In answer to your final question regarding scope, the answer is yes. Non-woven media, filters and membranes etc are in scope. Kind regards and have a good weekend, Liz From: Marie Gorkem Sent: 25 November 2020 14:25 To: Nicol, Liz Cc: Jimi Kallio ; Cecile Huck Subject: RE: Consultation on use of PFAS in the textiles sector (inc. medical devices) and broad EU restriction proposal CAUTION: External email. Dear Liz, Thank you for this information and the questionnaire, and apologies also from my side for the delay of my response. I wrote to you on behalf of ATCS, the Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewardship, which bring together producers of telomer chemistry. From ATCS' side, relevant members for TULAC applications are AGC and Daikin. Daikin may contact you separately on this, but regarding AGC, when would you be available for an interview? Shall we plan for early/mid December? We would be grateful if you could suggest 2 or 3 dates that suit you. Finally, I would like to ask you one clarification: are non-woven media (incl. fiberglass based nonwovens) in the scope of the survey? Thank you in advance, we look forward to hearing from you, Best regards, Marie Marie Gorkem Partner Kreab 2/4, Rond-Point Schuman , BE-1040 Brussels , Belgium Tel Mob +32 475 46 12 34 @lcreab.com www.kreab.com ?EU Transparency Register ID Number: 1078390517-54 This communication is only intended for the use of the individual or entity, to which it is directed and may contain information that is privileged, confidential and exempt from disclosure under applicable law. We are applying a staged approach to our consultation exercise for the textiles project and are not issuing a full questionnaire to stakeholders. Instead we are conducting interviews to go through specific questions. A list of typical questions is attached. I believe one of your colleagues has spoken directly to KEMI as part of the Filtration and Separation Coalition - Maria Morera ( @kreab.com). If it is possible to have a general conversation, even if just at a high level, with people who might be able to provide details about the questions attached, this would be extremely helpful for us. Let us know if this is feasible, or if more time is required, and we can set up a meeting time that suits everyone. Please do not click on links/attachments unless you know the content is genuine and safe. Dear Ms Bradbrook, dear Ms Nicol, I'm writing to you on behalf of the Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewarship (ATCS). ATCS as an association, as well as some of its members individually, responded to the call for evidence last summer, including for applications related to the textiles sector. Nonetheless, neither ATCS nor its relevant members received the questionnaire mentioned in the below email. Would it be possible to receive it? Thank you, Best regards, Marie Gorkem ?? Oktober 2020 10:29 An: Bradbrook, Helen Cc: Nicol, Liz Betreff: Consultation on use of PFAS in the textiles sector (inc. medical devices) and broad EU restriction proposal To whom it may concern, We are writing to ask for your input into the ongoing uses of fluorochemicals (i.e. PFASs) and their substitutes, in the context of a possible EU-level restriction on these substances. Please note that, due to the narrow time constraints to carry out this work, we ask for inputs to this project to be made within the next two weeks if possible. As you may be aware, the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) has commissioned our project team at Wood to provide an assessment on the use of fluorochemicals (PFASs) and their substitutes in textiles, upholstery, leather, apparel and carpets (TULAC). The objective of this work is to gather and assess the necessary information on uses and emissions of fluorochemicals and their substitutes in this sector. This will contribute to a joint REACH restriction proposal to limit the risks to the environment and human health from the manufacture and use of a wide range of PFAS, being prepared by the national authorities of Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Please see the accompanying letter from Jenny Ivarsson from KEMI to confirm the details of this ongoing work. We would kindly like to invite your participation in the project by providing any available information on the uses of fluorochemicals in the TULAC sector, through a brief telephone interview (-1hr) to answer a few key questions. The particular aspects for which we would like to gather further information include the following: * The known current uses of fluorochemicals (including fluoropolymers) in the TULAC sector. * The overall volumes (tonnages) of the fluorochemicals (or materials containing fluorochemicals) used in this sector and the `market share' between different uses. * The available `substitutes' (i.e. non-PFAS) options for use in this sector. * The technical and economic implications of switching to these substitutes in this sector. Please let us know if you are willing to provide data for this project. We can arrange to send a more detailed list of specific questions, and arrange a convenient time to contact you for an interview if suitable. Please do not hesitate to get in touch (via email to myself or your contribution to the project. @woodplc.com) if you have any questions and we appreciate Yours faithfully, Helen Bradbrook Consultant Environment & Infrastructure International www.woodplc.com This message is the property of John Wood Group PLC and/or its subsidiaries and/or affiliates and is intended only for the named recipient(s).
