October 6, 1980 Dear This letter is to encourage you again, as in our letter of September 10, 1975, to inform your customers of the possible hazards associated with the use and handling of asbestos. A copy of the enclosed letter and attachments, which Union Carbide uses for this purpose, should have been received by you recently. We suggest that you distribute a similar notification to all your Union Carbide asbestos customers on a regular basis so that they will be able to use "Calidria" without any undue health risks. We plan a mailing of this type roughly once a year and suggest that you do likewise. It would also be advisable to send a similar notice to new customers on, or before, their first purchase. Such a program evidences your concern for the safe ano proper use of "Calidria" and makes good business sense. It is demonstrable evidence that you have provided product safety information in the event that a question cf product liability arises in the future. You may wish to consult your own attorney in this regard prior to making any such mailings in order to be fu":ly advised of your obligation to give adequate warnings as to those products which you sell or distribute.
