No. 3H 1952 October 23 MARTINO ELECTED A DIRECTOR OF CHASE NATIONAL BANK Joseph A. Martino, president of National Lead Company, was yesterday elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Chase National Bank. Mr. Martino is also a director of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, Doehlen-Jarvis Corporation and National Cylinder Gas Company, and a trustee of the Hamburg Savings Bank of Brooklyn. He is a vice-president of Lead Industries Association and a director of the National Association of Manu facturers. PACIFIC COAST BRANCH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS V. E. Dean has been named assistant manager of the Northern Division of the Pacific Coast Branch, assuming responsibility for production in the Company's Seattle plant and for industrial sales throughout the Northwest. Mr. Dean's service with the Company commenced when he joined Schom Paint Manufacturing Company in Seattle on March 1, 1929 as a stockroom clerk. After eight years of varied duties in the Schorn plant, he served in suc cession as plant production manager, plant superintendent, purchasing agent and assistant manager. When the Schorn organization was acquired by Na tional Lead Company, Mr. Dean became manager of the Schorn Paint Division and he retained this position until the present appointment. E. E. Pentland, who was recently advanced to the position of sales manager of the Company's Schorn Division, will have his headquarters in Seattle. Mr. Pentland joined the Company in 1932 and first served as sales man in the Montana territory. In 1949 he became manager of the territory served from Spokane, which position he held until the present. Succeeding Mr. Pentland as Spokane manager is Garland R. Jeude, who will be responsible for the Company's .operations in the Spokane, Butte and Boise territories.Mr. Jeude started with National Lead Company in 1939 and has been a sales representative in Southern Oregon and in Idaho prior to his present appointment. BAROID BUILDING NEW PLANT AT CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Construction has begun on a new Baroid Sales Division processing plant and warehouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. The new plant will include a mi 11 for processing barytes ore and a warehouse for storage of oil well drilling muds and chemicals.
