Dr. K i t m i l l e r has given expression to his own diagnostic in pression. Perhaps, it would he j u s t a s w e l l if I were to give you m y opinion after seeing Mr. w H H ^ a n d talking with him briefly, after discussion of the case with Dr. Kitzmiller, and after taking Into account the various findings# First, let me point out that the results of lead analyses give a clear indication that this m a n 's lead exposure was of the sort which in our experience can produce lead intoxication. Second, X would call attention to the fact that therp has been a definite subsidence of the symptoms of illness. Third, the clinical picture in this instance, while not entirely charac teristic, and not In itself justifying the diagnosis of lead poisoning, is nevertheless, compatible with the toxic effects of lead. Fourth, we have not been able to find any other con dition which provides any explanation of this m a n 's Illness* For all of these reasons, I am disposed to agree witii Br. &itamiller's opinion, and to conclude that this is a case of mild lead intoxication. Recovery may be expected to be complete and prompt. In fact, the symptoms are subsiding, and I would expect that all of the symptomatic effects of intoxication will have disappeared in the course of 15 to JO days. You will note in the examination record that we have carried out a. number of observations and clinical diagnostic tests which may not be Regarded as entirely necessary for the purpose of arriving at a diagnosis. In general, however, because we are interested in arriving at a firmly established differential diagnosis,we are in the habit of .making rather comprehensive studies. I Mention these matters for the reason that the bill which I am sending you herewith does not cover all of the laboratory procedures which are indicated in the report. ^ I trust this will be satisfactory for your purposes, but I wish you to know in view of the inquiry received from your ?
