We are quite anxious to procure a sample of tetraethyl lead in order to test the antidotal value of BAL in the treatment of acute lead intoxication. Our results with BAL in the treatment of laboratory animals poisoned acutely with cadmium or mercury have been successful enough to suggest that BAL may have considerable value in counteracting acute lead poisoning. At the suggestion of Colonel C, P. Rhoads we are writing to request from you a sample of tetraethyl lead of sufficient quantity for use in approximately one hundred (100) rabhits. We would be very grateful to you if in addition you can send us infoxmation concerning the toxicity of tetraethyl lead when administered via different routes and the solubility of the agent in various non-toxic vehicles.
