Instructions for Installing
GRIZZLY WIRE LINE TURN BACK
In order to insure best results in service, the Grizzly Wire Line Turn Back should be carefully installed in accordance with the following instructions. To do so will pay dividends in longer wear of wire lines, greater safety, and the elimination of wire line spooling troubles.
Bolt, or weld, the base plate on draw works guard so that the point of contact of wire line is approximately M/j inches from the end of the rubber roller at "A" when the line is on its first wrap on the spool and against the spool flange. In this position, the wire line should be resting lightly against the rubber roller. Then it is sug gested to set the roller [A inch farther in against the line, in order to get more tension of line against roller; or adjust to suit conditions.
Type of base supplied with Grizzly Wire Line Turn Back for welding on draw wo rks guard. Designed so as to be easily adjusted to any degree curve of guard, or at any angle so as to square the rubber roller with the wire line as illustrated at right.

Turn Back also should be ad justed so that the rubber roller is square with the line; or approxi mately at 90 angle as shown above. This an gle must be de termined before welding or bolt ing the base on the draw works
guard.
IMPORTANT
When the Grizzly Wire Line Turn Back is properly in stalled, wear on the rubber roller will be very slight. Excessive wear indicates that roller is set too far forward or is not at right angle to wire line, in which case it should be adjusted to correct position.
If wear on rubber roller should be heavier at one end than at the other, remove rubber roller and reinstall in reverse position. In this manner the wear can be dis tributed evenly over entire length and roller will give considerably longer service.
