National Gypsum Company claims a flame spread rating of 20. At the present time, we have no vinyl product with a flame spread rating of 20. Eternawall has a flame spread rating of 30. Be careful when you are competing against a National Gypsum Company's specification since they manufacture their monolithic vinyl with a flame spread of.20 and also have a regular vinyl product with a flame spread of 35. Many jobs are being sold by National on the basis of having a 20 flame spread rating, but the material supplied is the regular vinyl with the beveled edge which has the higher flame spread. However, we don't want to become involved in a situation where the specifications require a 20 flame spread rating, since our material will not meet this requirement. Qur laboratory is presently scheduling tests in an attempt to achieve a lower flame spread rating.
