Certain un usual demands on my time, during the past ten days, have interfered with all but the most urgent items of correspondence. I can now see my way clear to a review of the record in the case referred to above, and if the necessary material is forwarded, I shall do my best to giver.an opinion. In my experience with cases that have remained unresolved, the fault has usually resided in unsatisfactory medical evidence unsatisfactory because it was not sought or obtained at the right time by knowledgeable persons. I hope this will not turn out to be of this type, for even a well educated guess in these matters is a very poor substitute for evidence, especially when the means of obtaining satis factory evidence was available but ignored or misapplied.
