There is a contract between Cinpathogen and Fudan. This is an agreement between a private company and IBS/Fudan.... and there will be a contract between Cinpathogen and UCDHSC, the latter one cannot be concluded until the Chinese side issues and the funding issues are finalized. The Cinpathogen/Fudan agreement is not secret but it is also not a public document, and the Chinese are sensitive about its contents. He certainly would be willing to answer questions related to the contract, and if it is a condition to funding, perhaps one company attorney could review it. For the main study payment to Fudan is to go thru Cinpathogen. Payment to UCDHSC would also go through Cinpathogen. Richard sees no problem with Fuchu He being a contact for API re the smaller API contract, but he doesn't know what that contract covers and he will have to explain to him what this is all about. He would appreciate if he could see a copy of this. There is no question that the further use of tissue bank materials would be accordance to law and consistent with informed consent forms. According to agreement, the ICMRC owns them subject to the rule of law which is the same set of conditions that have been operating all along. Richard would like to know more about the magnitude and timing of the funding so he can try to meet current commitments. He has lost further staff. The University of Cincinnati also required a contract for Dr Bao before end of 2006 and he cannot give it to them at present - if that arrangement falls through, this will be an additional problem with which he has to contend.
