Phil&delpt.ia, ?a, January 29, 1?45. At a regular meeting of the Directors of John T. Lewie * Bros. Company, held this day at their office# in the ssidener Building, there were presenti J. W. Gardiner, President S. ?, Reeves, Vice President A. M. Wilson, Vice President L. T* Beale, Director The meeting was called to order by Mr. J, #, Gardiner, who preaided, and Mr A. A, Wilson reported the ainutea of the meeting. On e motion the reading of the minutes of January 15, was dispensed &itb. On e motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously decided that the company should sponsor and assist Mr. Sam Allen, Foreman of the WhiteLead Department, in the prosecution of the assault and battery charge resulting from an altercation which took place January 26, cn the factory premise#. Zt was unanimously dsoided to accept Mr. Reeves* suggestion that the company sponsor the showing of e war film for war workers, entitled Defeet and Victory,* following the usual factory lunch period, and that no wage deductions should be made for the time required to show this film Mr. Gardiner stated that in view of restrictions on the use of Lead, our advertising budget has been voluntarily out from $6,725 to $625 for 1945, in^the Pigments Division. There will be no change made in the Metal. Department*# Advertising budget. Mr. Gardiner reported that word had been received from the General Office authorising the contribution to the Annual American Red Cross Drive in the amount of $2,500.00. On a motion made and seconded it was unanimously decided to make this contribution in the amount specified. Hr. Gardiner presented a revision in the contract which has existed between John T. Lewie A Eros* Company and F. V, Gunn A Company, Richmond, ,for the last tkree years. The revision ineludsd the acceptance of fir. A. P. Gunn's resignation as a sales representative of John T. Lewis and Bros. Company, as of March 1, at which time he becomes a partner of the P. V. Gunn Company, This, together with other incidental savings, will effect a reduction in Lewis' salesmen's salary and expansss of approximately $4,000, On a motion duly made and seconded this revised contract was unanimously approved.
