Bob gives me too much credit on 108(b), although it was our strategy that pushed it to the end of the Obama administration and forced the environmental groups to seek mandamus. Also, I was the lead SER in the SBAR process and worked closely with Kevin Bromberg at SBA's Office of Advocacy. We also have worked closely with Tawny Bridgeford at NMA who has done an incredible job with NMA's comments.
I have met with Byron Brown on a couple of occasions and would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you. I will be in DC the entire week of the 23rd. I have some meetings scheduled on the Hill, but have pretty good availability that week.

Hey Patrick, also left you a voicemail today. Laura Skaer is the Executive Director of American Exploration & Mining Association (formerly known as Northwest Mining Association). Laura virtually single-handedly prevented implementation of an unnecessary and duplicative financial assurance rule that would have severely undercut the mining industry in the U.S., curtailing many high paying jobs in the extraction of minerals critical to the nation's economy, national defense and infrastructure. The rule is commonly referred to as 108(b), referencing the source of purported authority under CERCLA.
