MIDLAND LMPIOYERff IOTSJAL A SURAHCD LTD. Our Ref. 45/61430. The Petroleuia Boai Shell-Hex House, W.0.2. 17 Davile Row, LONDON. if. i. Confidential. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 7th instant with enclosures. Th i last nedlcal report we have is dated 12th November, 1946, from D. C. I. Andrews. Since that time we have endeavoured to get the claim settled wi th the Workmen's Solicitor but their difficulty is that they liav e been unable to get anyone to give them a medical report. Hack d octor they have consulted apparently refers them to another and they are going round in circles. The latest development is that Drury has apparently written to his Tblicltors in such a strain that they have had to send their file to local Agents to investigate the possibility of a Common Law against you. Such a claim has notyet been made and almost certainly will not be made because of course we have sufficient information on our file to be able to stop such a claim forthwith. At the same time the man, who is mentally unstable, will not be satisfied until some steps have been taken in this direction and his Solicitors and endeavouring therefore to see that this bee is removed from hie bonnet at all events. We discuss this case with the man's Solicitors regularly every fortnight and are pressing them to settle as soon as possible. In the meantime, however, vie fear that we have no medical evidence which Will assist Dr. Cassells at the present stage. Yours faithfully, A. S. HOWELLS. London Manager.
