Conclusions: As a result of this study the following recommen dations are made: 1. At the book preform, block preform, disc preform and other areas where high airborne asbestos concentra tions. liave been detected, enclose the operations as much as is practical. Sheet metal enclosures are preferable, but canvas or lead vinyl curtains can be effectively used too. 2. Where practical, substitute wet mixes for dry mixes in the preforming stages. 3. Where practical, substitute mixes containing asbestos fibers of shorter length for mixes containing asbestos fibers of longer length. During the visit, I received excellent cooperation from Jeff Nicholson, Lloyd Broadstreet, Roger Dillon, Chairlie Mallory, and Bob Brown. I thank them all for their assistance and courtesies.
