The financial assurance for the new LCCC hazardous waste facilities were completed by the September 25 deadline. A special thanks goes to Geri Smith - Treasury for her excellent work in getting the required coverage in such a short time frame. 2. The second DOT General Awareness Training was presented to more S&T and International Operations personnel. A total of 30 employees have received this overview. 3. The Hammond Plant environmental audit was finalized and submitted. 4. MJH participated in the HM-181 Team which met to discuss the expiration of "transitional" packaging on 1/1/91. This expiration will mean that all air and marine non-bulk hazardous ) / material shipments must conform to international packaging standards. Our drum suppliers are already supplying us with international specification drums, and the Team is continuing to work on the issue of samples. 5. MJH participated in the Safety Records Team which is attempting to find solutions for the growing problem of storage and retrieval of industrial hygiene and safety information. T. G.
