He informed me that they had decided against evaluating the material in a new gasketing instant seal product for automotive applications due to the potential hazards of asbestos. After some reassuring by the writer, he agreed to evaluate RG-244 in his application. They are currently using 8-9% by weight of Cab-O-Sil to develop thixotrophy. The polymer is extremely sensitive to .iron oxides and their requirements limit the presence of any oxides to 2 ppm. He thought they might be able to utilize RG-244 despite the magnetite due to the low levels of RG-244 required. RECOMMENDED ACTION BLI Follow up within four weeks.
