DREWES ELECTED DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL STARCH AND CHEMICAL CORPORATION Alfred H. Drewes, a director and vice-president of the Company, has been elected to the board of directors of National Starch and Chemical Corporation. G. A. DIES APPOINTED AT ST. LOUIS Gus A Dies has been named sales manager of the metal division of the St. Louis Branch. Mr. Dies began his Company career in 1923 as a statistical clerk in the St. Louis Branch. Advancing through the accounting department and the metal division he became assistant sales manager of the metal div ision in 1950. TERWILLIGER NAMED TRADE SALES MANAGER OF ATLNTIC BRANCH Lee M. Terwilliger has been appointed trade sales manager of the Atlantic Branch. Mr. Terwilliger has served as a sales representative of the Cleveland Branch in the Buffalo area, since joining the Company in 19^8. He is a member of Western New York Paint Travelers Association and treasurer of Buffalo Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association. He attended Syracuse University. BLESS EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT AT KIRK Morris P. Kirk & Son, Inc. has announced the appointment of George C. Bless as executive vice-president. Mr. Bless joined Kirk in 1933 as an accountant. He became treasurer in 1935 and was named vice-president and secretary in 19^8. QUIGLEY IS PRESIDENT OF AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE Dr. Joseph A. Quigley, director of health and safety at National Lead Company of Ohio at Fernald, Ohio has been elected president of the American Academy of Occupational Medicine for i960. The Academy has a mem bership of over 300 persons, representing virtually all of the major business and universities in the country. WTLLETS HONORED BY AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS William R. Jager, secretary of the pension and life insurance board and member of the profit sharing administration committee, has been elected to a five year term as a trustee of The Incorporated Village of Westbury, Long Island, New York, and appointed by the board of trustees as commis sioner of personnel, accounts and finance. HEIST, PERSONNEL MANAGER AT TAM, DIES Arthur P. Heist, personnel manager of the Titanium Alloy Manufacturing Division at Niagara Falls, died of pneumonia March 26, i960. He was personnel manager at TAM for 17 years. Mr. Heist was a member of the Personnel Managers Association and Exchange Club of Niagara Falls. ATMOS CLOCK ADDED TO SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM Employees now have the choice of receiving on the twenty-fifth anni versary of their employment with the Company, a suitably engraved Atmos clock instead of a watch. The clock, a product of Longines-Wittnauer Watch Company has a heavy brass case, highly polished and protected with gold and lacquer finish, which measures 9ir" high, 8" wide and 6-3/8" deep. Through an ingenious arrange ment the Atmos derives its energy from the daily changes in the temperature of the atmosphere. HENDERSON PLANT RECEIVES "AWARD OF HONOR" The Henderson, Nevada, plant of Titanium Metals Corporation of America has received the highest award given by the National Safety Council. Designated as their "Award of Honor", it is presented in recognition of note' worthy safety achievements.
