LaCour, M.D. Medical Surveillance -- Asbestos Workers Address BR Plant Date May 27, 1977 Currently there are approximately 60 Ethyl Corporation (Baton Rouge Plant) workers under medical surveillance as asbestos workers. Enclosed are lists of these workers. As noted in 1910.1001 J3, all asbestos workers are re quired to have medical surveillance if they are exposed to ANY concentrations of asbestos fibers. We are now providing comprehensive annual physical exam inations, including the required puljnonary function studies in addition to other pulmonary function studies. The annual x-ray is provided and read by a radiologist. The termination physical examination, within 30 days of termination on either side, is provided. Also enclosed' are copies of the standards with the med ical surveillance and a copy of the questionnaire, which is self-explanatory as to the examination done on the asbestos workers.
