I had hoped to see you, Dr. Mathews and many others. I know I would have had a grand time. I noticed recently the notes and the discussion of a paper given by you last November, at the Central Society for Clinical Research at Chicago, (J.A.M.A., Feb. 3 1940). I wonder whether the full paper has been published and if so where? Also whether you have an extra reprint of it? The Federal Food and Drug Administration are still de bating whether the use of the long employed lead and sulfur hair dyes result in skin absorption of lead of dangerous degrees. We pave worked on this problem off and on for many years. We have ffered to let Dr. Calveiy have all the data we have. I, would like o refer to the data in your Chicago paper as it has a bearing both qualitatively and quantitatively in relation to the normals. Any data y o u have or have published on skin absorption of lead, esecially water soluble salts such as the acetate, would help much, ven if, perchance, no direct references to it would be appropriate or ary executive or allied reasons.
