These have all been accomplished with the cooperation of Chicago management personnel, corporate envlronmental health section, ECO, and many of our 0C0 personnel. 1. Respirator clean-up program. 2. Each worker provided with two lockers; one for work clothes, and one for street clothes. 3. Slight positive pressure in the locker room. 4. Discontinue the practice of storing food,beverages, coffee cups, etc. In the lockers and eating In the locker room. 5. Laboratory personnel follow same hygiene practices as plant operators. Discontinue making coffee and eating In the laboratory. 6. Provide a new lunch room. Replaced old table top with Formica. 7. Mandatory shower regulations. 8. Use of plastic containers for storage of respirator. A seperate plastic container Is supplied for cigarettes, tobacco, etc. 9. Bottled water,with paper cups, supplied In the lunch room. 10. Vacuum cleaner for cleaning clothes before entering the lunch room. CYWI 3-000820 -2 11. Disposable aprons supplied. 12. Weekly air sampling. Different area each day. 13. Weekly test by velometer of all exhaust systems. 14. Bump hat (Glendale) required. 15. Small pamphlet patterned after the one used at the the Willow Island pigment department distributed to all employees. 16. Numerous modifications of exhaust and ventilation systems accomplished. This is, and will be, continuous. 17. Survey by George Van Hare (ECD) to recommend improvements In material handling, ventilation, and kiIn operation. 18. Locker inspection by supervision. 19* Blood sampling monthly or semi-monthly, based on lead levels. Tests run at Willow Island. Here are the blood leads of our employees who were here when we acquired the facility and are still employed. The numbers listed are an average of the first two and the last two samples taken.
