Originally, it had been antic ipated that the discussion would be conducted under a secrecy agreement; however in the meantime, Chemico changed their plan. No confidential information was given to Chemico or Buss Ltd. The intent of their visit was simply to determine any recent progress or action that Grace may have in reducing the process to commer cial practice. We, of course, have made no progress in that area. Chemico probably will not take further action until, or unless, a prospective customer shows interest. (Legal, Kolbe) REFORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF MQNO-KOTE (Project 2659) ' Commercial dry-hose spray equipment made by the Allentown (Penn sylvania) Pneumatic Gun Co. was tested on April 27. Formulations of MK-L and ZIC were sprayed successfully, but placement densities were too high. This confirms previous results with MK-4 using the Air Placed Concrete Co. equipment. However the equipment and time were not available to test all possible operating conditions to achieve lower densities. We believe the density can be controlled by adjusting water and air pressure. Other factors such as nozzle design, air entraining agents, foaming agents, and mixing could possibly affect density also. WRC has purchased a Model N-0 pneumatic gun, the smallest commer cial gun, and will now commence a study of the factors affecting the properties of dry-hose applied construction products. First, we Intend to determine the critical factors for the use of the gun in ZIC application. A program has been prepared for the Construction Products Division's comments. The plan will be dis cussed with them on May 31, 1972 at Cambridge. Experimental work will start about June 15. (Kraus, Legal) TEROSON CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS (Project 2667) Teroson (Grace, Heidelberg, Germany) Is Interested in testing spec imens of WRC silicate construction materials applied to metal parts supplied b y them. Metal parts have been shipped from Germany and information has been received describing how the samples should be prepared. Work will commence upon receipt of the metal parte. (Legal, Kolbe) 15208116
