NAB brake configuration selection will be based on the following criteria,
o Performance,
o Noise Level.
o Certification Span per FMVSS 121 Dyno Certification,
o Drum Wear/Life,
o Lining Wear/Life.
o Interchangeability with Asbestos Linings for Service Part Replacement.
Procedures that GM Truck and Bus will use to evaluate noise level, performance, drum wear and lining wear will be available upon request. Evaluation of certification span will be based on drum brake manufacturer dyno certification data. Service interchangeability will be based on a review of current asbestos lining performance characteristics vs. proposed NAB lining.
