OHSA - hearing conservation program, deferral of deadline for employee baseline audiograms. A new deadline will be contained in the revised hearing conservation amendment which is to be published shortly. (FR, Volume 47, No. 157, 8/13/82)
OSHA - the issue of revision of the lead standard to include use of qualitation fit testing for respirators is open for comment until 9/20/32. (FR, Volume 47, No. 162, 8/20/82)
OSHA - is accepting industry applications for participation in voluntary protection programs to supplement enforcement. The programs are called "Star", "Try", and "Praise*. (FR, Volume 47, No. 128, 7/2/82)
"Star" - companies with superior health safety program.
"Try" - companies who want them "designed to evaluate alternative prevention systems.
"Praise" - good safety and health programs ov hazard industries.
OSHA - is proposing modification of Access to Employee Exposure and Madical Records rule. Requests comments on:
1. Definition of "employee" 2. Definition of "toxic substance" 3. Definition of "exposure" 4. Preservation requirements for exposure and
medical records
