LOUIS Hayden Tanner, who has been superintendent of the Hoyt Plant at Granite City since 1927, was appointed an assistant manager of the St. Louis Branch on October 1. Mr. Tanner joined the Company in 1903. BRENNAN AND HAMMOND NOW AT PERTH AMBOY PAINT PLANT Harry M. Brennan, assistant paint factory superintendent of the Pacific Coast Branch for the past six years, has been transferred to the Perth Amboy plant of Atlantic Branch where he will be in charge of production of the new line of outside house paints. Peter Hammond, formerly in charge of white lead in oil and paint production at Atlantic's Brooklyn plant, has been moved to Perth Amboy as Mr. Brennan's assistant. TWO VETERAN ATLANTIC BRANCH SALESMEN PASS AWAY Cecil B. Stott and William L. Schroeder, members of the Atlantic Branch white lead sales force for many years, died less than a day apart during the September 20-21 week-end. Both men lived as neighbors on Long Island and covered territories there. Mr. Stott joined Atlantic Branch in 1912. He was bora in England in 1880. Mr. Schroeder started work with Atlantic in 1918. He was born in New York City in 1877. BUSSE HEADS CLEVELAND PAINT CLUB Ellis E. Bus3e, manager of the Cleveland Branch, was elected president of the Cleveland Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association at the September 26 meeting of the organization. DONDOfiF COMPLETES 40 YEARS OF SERVICE Ernest R. Dondorf, manager of metal purchases, completed 40 years with the Company on October 6. His employment began in the office of United Lead Company and continued in the Metal Department at headquarters after the con solidation in 1928. Mr. Dondorf became manager of metal purchases in 1939* LA M0THE ROUNDS OUT 35 YEARS WITH COMPANY Lester LaMothe, of the white lead sales department of Atlantic Branch, celebrated his 35th service anniversary on October 11, the event being observed by a luncheon with Atlantic Branch associates. PAUL JOINS COLOR SPECIALISTS GROUP M. Rea Paul, recently in Government service with the WPB's Smaller War Plants division and prior to that head of the Department of Decoration of the Company for more than 20 years, has joined the firm of Frederic H. Orling, salesaianager of Pacific Coast Branch Central Division, has been adjudged the winner of a competition among students at 32 of the large colleges in the Pacific northwest, the contest being jointly sponsored by the Portland League of Women Voters and radio station EGW of Portland, Mrs. Putnam is a recent graduate of the University of Oregon. Her prise-winning entry earned a trip to New lork City as the guest of the National League of Women Voters and National Broadcasting Co. She will appear on October 23 before the United Nations Assembly at Lake Success, N. I. to present resolutions on world government which represent the opinions of about 35,000 Pacific northwest college students.
