CMA 015593 7 Polyvinyl Chloride Resins Dr. Dernehl reviewed a special meeting of polyvinyl chloride resin manufacturers held on October 6 to discuss medical observations of terminal bone lesions in the fingers of certain employees, appar ently associated with polyvinyl chloride resins production. This matter was brought to attention by B. F. Goodrich Chemical Company, the meeting having been held under the auspices of the MCA Occupa tional Health Committee. Subsequently, recommendations for in-plant medical studies, industry-sponsored toxicological research (possibly $100,000), and .an open symposium -- summer 1967 if technical findings justify it by that time -- were taken to the Executive Conmittee. These recommendations were favorably received, and the Occupational Health Committee was requested to proceed with plans, subject to future approval. CMA 015394
