The Micro-Max I
Air Sampling Pump
Air testing--the process of docu
menting the level of asbestos fibers in
any given air space--is the single most important safety aspect of an asbestos abatement project. The ac curacy of air tests is crucial for reasons of health as well as law. Test results determine whether an air space is safe for human occupation. At the same time, the results of tests taken before, during and after an abatement project may later have to stand up in court proceedings where they will be vigorously challenged.
The method and machinery used for collecting a sample play a crucial role in the documentable accuracy of the final test result.
The Micro-Max air sampling pump was designed specifically for the demands of asbestos abatement work. It is the most powerful and ac curate air sampling pump available. And, it is the most sophisticated.
Built-in Brooks Instrumentation elimi nates the need for traditional calibration procedures.
In the early 1980s, the criteria for air sample collection underwent a dramatic evolution. Originally, only hundreds of liters of air were col lected. But state-of-the-art studies with electron microscopes have shown that to achieve statistically ac curate results, thousands of liters of air must be collected in a given air
space. That's why the new, 1985 EPA asbestos-in-buildings guidance docu ment recommended a minimum of 3,000 liters for each air sample.1
The Micro-Max is high-powered and can collect a 3,000-liter sample
in 3 hours, 20 minutes. Constructed for heavy-duty use
and maximum portability, the pump is a self-contained air-sampling station. It has an ergonomic carrying handle, an optional carrying case and a tele scoping cassette holder which extends to 55 inches.
Featuring an oil-less, vane-driven pump, the unit includes a down stream regulator to adjust to filter loading conditions and maintain a constant, set, flow rate ranging from 5-to-15 liters a minute.
The unit can utilize all standard cassettes, including high-static filter membranes required for electron mi croscopy analysis.
Safety oriented, the Micro-Max' meets or exceeds all federal and in dustry standards, and comes with a 12-month guarantee on parts.
